A beach town in February is a different product
Every home on this site is a summer rental the rest of the year. From Labour Day to Victoria Day the rates drop, the minimum stay becomes a month, and the village belongs to the people who actually live in it.
For the owner it is nine months of income instead of three. For you it is a whole furnished house with a kitchen, a washing machine and a driveway, for less than a serviced apartment in London — and a Blue Flag beach you will have largely to yourself.

How it works
Three steps, no account to create.
1.Find the house
Browse what is open for the coming off season. Every listing shows the monthly rate, what is included, and who the place actually suits.
2.Send an enquiry
Tell us your dates and what brings you here. We come back within 1 business day with availability and the full number — no deposit to see a price.
3.Sign and move in
Agreement, deposit, keys. The house is furnished and the utilities are already on, so you arrive with a suitcase and start living in it.
Who ends up here
Most of our tenants are here because of a job or a deadline, not a holiday.
Travel nurses & healthcare staff
Thirteen-week contracts and hotel rooms are a bad match. A furnished cottage a short drive from St. Thomas Elgin General or London Health Sciences gives you a kitchen, a laundry machine and a door that closes.

Elgin County is in the middle of a long build cycle. If your crew is booked in for a season, a whole cottage costs less than four motel rooms and comes with a kitchen table to plan the week around.

A gut renovation runs long. So does a fire or water claim. A furnished cottage keeps the family together in one place instead of split between a hotel and a relative's basement.

Closing dates rarely line up. Rather than sign a year-long lease for a three-month gap, take a furnished place by the month and move once, when your real house is ready.

Port Stanley in February is not the Port Stanley of the August long weekend. The beach is empty, the parking is free, and the only thing competing for your attention is the weather over the lake.

Buying into a small lakeside village sight-unseen is a gamble. Spend a winter here first. If the place still looks good in March, you have your answer.

Co-op terms are four months. Most leases are twelve. An off-season cottage matches the term you actually have, furnished, with the internet already connected.

Some people want Port Stanley precisely because it is closed. Storm-watching in November, a wood stove in January, the whole beach to a dog in March.

If you own a cottage in Port Stanley, the off season is dead money — you are heating an empty building for eight months to protect the pipes. We market those months to people who need somewhere real to live, and leave your summer calendar exactly where it is.
- We market the shoulder and winter months you are not selling anyway
- Longer stays: one tenant for a month or a season, not fifty turnovers
- Guests screened, agreements signed, deposits held
- You keep your summer calendar — we only touch the off season

Questions we get a lot
What exactly is an off-season rental?
It is a furnished summer property let by the month during the months it would otherwise sit empty. In Port Stanley that runs from roughly Labour Day to Victoria Day. You get the same house a summer visitor pays a weekly premium for, at a monthly rate, because the alternative for the owner is an empty building with the heat on.
How long is the minimum stay?
Thirty nights on most homes. Some owners will take shorter shoulder-season stays in September, October and May — if that is what you need, ask and we will tell you which homes are flexible.
Are utilities included?
On most of our homes, yes — heat, hydro, water and Wi-Fi in one monthly number. Each listing states it plainly under the rates. Where utilities are metered separately it is because the home is large enough that winter heating is genuinely unpredictable, and that is disclosed up front rather than in a footnote.
Is the property furnished?
Completely. Beds made, kitchen stocked with cookware and dishes, towels and linens supplied, Wi-Fi already connected. You should be able to arrive with a suitcase and cook dinner the same night.
Can I bring a pet?
At several of the homes, yes, usually with a pet fee and a conversation about size and breed. Every listing shows its pet policy. Port Stanley beaches also relax their dog rules outside the summer season, which is one of the quiet advantages of renting here in February.
What happens if my dates change?
Tell us as early as you can. Off-season stays are month-to-month by design, and extending is usually straightforward because the calendar behind you is empty. Shortening depends on the notice you can give and on the individual owner.
